Most people know me as a Director/DP — but what not everyone knows is that I’m also a Photographer. In fact, it was photography that first sparked my path into filmmaking.
It started in a small town outside Vienna, Austria, when I was 14. My dad, a photographer, gave me my first camera. It was film. I shot my first roll… and it came back completely black. I was crushed, but I never made that mistake again.
Photography has been with me ever since. It’s where I explore, experiment and reconnect with what inspires me. It’s how I take in new places, new people, new textures. It’s how I stay curious and inspired.
There’s something about looking through the lens that just feels like home. It grounds me, fuels me, and reminds me why I do what I do.
“I feel beauty in so many things
In the fog rolling off the ocean during an early morning surf.
In the way a single streetlamp lights an alley in Hollywood. In how a street vendor in Vietnam carefully arranges her stand.
And then there’s the beauty I shoot commercially.
The lipstick placed just right.
The way the eyeshadow complements her skin.
The way the light wraps around her face like silk.”
I deeply care about my clients, about the process, and the work we create together. On set, I bring a calm, kind presence. I love building an environment that’s safe, collaborative, and genuinely fun — the kind where great work just happens.
